Residency Prize FAQ
Is it possible to get a refund after I’ve entered?
If at any time you wish to withdraw from the Banditto Residency competition, we will offer you a full refund within 30 days of the entry date. Refunds will be made by the same method of payment. Please include your Order Reference Number as proof of purchase. Please mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org and explain that you would like to withdraw.
If you wish to withdraw after the winners are presented, or if you enter the competition but fail to send your work, a refund cannot be processed.
Why do you charge a processing fee?
We receive hundreds of submissions for this prize. Checking every submission and selecting our winners is extremely time consuming and requires certain resources to be carried out in an efficient manner. Its very important to us that every submission is handled with care and is evaluated equally. For this reason we require a small processing/admin fee.
How can I pay my Entry Fee?
You can pay online using Paypal or your credit/debit card.
Is there a theme to the Art Prize?
No, there is no specific theme to the Banditto Residency Prize. It is an open call for artists and you are welcome to submit work on any subject with the use of any medium.
Who can submit work the Banditto Residency Prize?
Anyone can enter the Banditto Residency Prize. This is an international competition and we welcome work from entrants of all ages 18 up and all nationalities.
How do you handle Intellectual property of the submissions?
Artists that enter their work into the Banditto Residency Prize will hold all intellectual property rights. By entering the Banditto Residency Prize competition artists agree to their works being used in publicity materials however – print or online. Artists will be credited in full.
Do I retain the rights to my work?
Yes, all entrants retain the copyright to all work submitted.
Can I get feedback on my work?
Due to the number of entries received, the judges unfortunately cannot offer any feedback on unsuccessful entries.
How will the Banditto Art Prize be judged?
The judging panel will select artwork of which 100 artists will be long-listed. From this selection, there will be a number of entrants shortlisted. Of those shortlisted, there will be three winners, one for the Main Prize and two for the Emerging Art Prize.
What happens if I am selected for the Banditto Residency Prize?
If you are shortlisted or longlisted for the Prize you will be asked to supply a high resolution image of your artwork for inclusion in the accompanying publication (Banditto Mag - A Collectors Magazine).
If you are shortlisted for the Prize, you will be asked to supply your artwork for exhibition in Montefollonico, Italy. Artists selected for the exhibition will be responsible for all transportation (delivery and collection) and insurance costs of artworks. If you wish to participate in the exhibition, please note that all travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the artist.
Once artworks are on display, they will be invigilated and exhibited in a secure location at our associate gallery, Galleria Banditto.
What will the editorial in Banditto Mag consist of for the winners?
The first edition after every deadline will include a full spread for the winners.
Can I submit work that has been previously published elsewhere?
Yes. We accept works previously published and exhibited elsewhere, but any information on previous publication and exhibition must be included on your submission form. This will not affect the judging process. In the event that you are selected, it is good-practice for competitions and magazines to credit previously published and exhibited works.
Can I alter my entry once it has been submitted?
Alterations can be made to a submitted piece, as the work will be stored on your personal account on our entry platform. However, due to the high volume of entries, judging will begin before the deadline of the last day of the month. It is at the judges' discretion whether they re-review any updated work.
